A state of the art High Ropes Course is the flagship
centre based activity providing ideal team and personal
challenges. Climb the Jacob's Ladder or leap for the trapeze
if you dare!
Climbing can take place all over Dartmoor in a
varied number of locations including Haytor, Houndtor
and the Dewerstone. Spending either a half day or the
whole day developing your climbing skills, the location
chosen will depend on the group and the weather or possibly
the programme, especially if combined with a walk on the
moor or Caving.
Dartmoor offers numerous options for Walking depending
on the distance to be covered, the group, and scenery
required. Alternatively the South Devon Coast path is
15 minutes walk from the centre with stunning views towards
Dartmouth and the west.
Abseiling typically involves a short walk to Berry
head followed by a 25m (80ft) descent into a quarry or
a stay onsite using our 8m (25ft) tower.
Orienteering also takes place up on Berry Head
where courses are set according to the group's abilities.
There is also a Team Challenge Zone, which involves
passing safely through the Spiders' Web and scaling the
Confidence Wall, then crossing the river to safety. Environmental
studies are also available provided through Grenville
House by the excellent staff of Berry Head Coast and Countryside
Trust.
Cycling on and around Dartmoor can be a whole
or half day activity depending on the location chosen
and the complimentary activity. Typically fairly easy
routes are used such as the 'Plym Trail'. |
