Coasteering

What is it?

A journey along the coast in the sea, involving some swimming, climbing, jumping and exploring.

Coasteer-3

What to expect on an coasteering session?

Beginning on site, you will be issued with wetsuits, buoyancy aids, and helmets before taking a short walk along the seafront to our coasteering site. We use a couple of different sites depending on the conditions and the ability of the group. After a safety briefing, we will begin by entering the water slowly in order to acclimatise. Sessions then include time playing in the waves, scrambling along rocks and some swimming and jumping in. At lower tides, you can spend some time exploring rock pools and getting up close to some of the marine life such as anemones, crabs, limpets and oysters. On some sessions we can be entertained by seals or maybe even some dolphins. Our sessions are tailored to the groups to make the best use of the weather, tides and location.

What will I need to wear?

  • Swimwear under the wetsuit

  • Wetsuit (issued by GH)

  • Sturdy shoes you can get wet

  • Helmet (issued by GH)

  • Buoyancy Aid (issued by GH)

  • Windproof Cag (issued by GH)
