Stand Up Paddleboarding

What is it?

One of the fastest growing paddle sports and a very accessible way to explore the water. Despite being called Stand Up Paddle boarding (SUP), the inflatable boards can also be paddled sat down, kneeling or lying down and can be paddled solo or tandem.

What to expect on a Stand Up Paddleboarding session?

Beginning on site, you will be issued with wetsuits, buoyancy aids, helmets and paddles before heading down to our boat store where we will give you a land-based board demo and instructions on how to use your paddles. It will then be a team effort to carry our SUP’s a short distance along the promenade to our own slipway into the harbour. From there we will launch the boards and start by getting to grips with paddling in a sheltered setting before we can journey further afield. Our SUP sessions are the perfect activity if you enjoy jumping in and getting wet and as well as games and challenges, your instructors are there to teach you skills and help you to gain the confidence to be able to stand up. On return to the centre there are external changing rooms with hot showers for your use afterwards. Our sessions are tailored to the participants needs and designed to make best use of the weather and the harbour.
